Servant Team Projects

Servant Team members are required to submit a project upon the completion of the Servant Team experience. This project will be a concentrated response focusing on a specific issue facing the poor within the local community. This will be an opportunity for you to creatively and analytically respond to the causes of poverty, at-risk communities, motivations for action, scripture, distinctives of a Christian response, cultural implications, what is being done already, available resources and a plan of action.

The project is intended to have two purposes. First, it will function as a potential tool for WMF. These proposals will be reviewed and possibly shared with other fields as a source for ideas and insights as projects are being considered. Secondly, the project is a platform for you to express what you are learning about God’s heart for the poor in practical terms. It is an opportunity for you to clarify and contextualize a Biblically based philosophy of ministry, as you re-interpret your spirituality in the context of a dying world.

Project Guidelines

Projects must be a minimum of five pages and possibly more, depending on the project. We encourage non-traditional or group projects, but you must first request approval from STC or STPC.

Do not procrastinate! Work on your project a couple of hours each week during the Servant Team.

Projects are due to the STC prior to departure from the field. Extensions must be approved through the STC and STPC.

You may be reimbursed up to $25 from the field budget at the approval of the STC for expenses such as time spent at an e-mail lab, taking an interviewed resource to a meal, etc.

Proposals must meet the criteria of the WMF vision statement.
