Short-Term Programs Handbook

Upon being approved for a WMF team, we will send you a copy of the Short Term Programs Handbook. Each team member is required to read the handbook in its entirety. You may purchase additional copies of the handbook for $15 or click here to download an electronic copy.

Additional Resources

You will also be required to read and write reports/reflections for several books before departure on your Servant Team, Discovery Team or Special Team. Each team's reading list will be different, but there is a core list of books that each team member will be required to read. All participants on WMF Short Term Programs must read the following three books:

The Jesus I Never Knew, by Philip Yancey

Compassion, by Henri Nouwen

Rich Christians in an Age of Hunger, by Ron Sider

Upon being accepted to a WMF team, you will be given a country-specific reading list, in addition to the three books listed above. Those books may also be purchased using the links to the below booksellers.
